Following the first edition of the FADAM Games held in Cameroon, the ambition to leave a lasting sporting legacy in the country has taken another step forward. During an official reception, the Mayor of Dschang announced the allocation of nearly two hectares of land to the International Committee of the FADAM Games (CIJFADAM) for the creation of a sports center to serve the local population.

Dschang is committed to working alongside FADAM for the development of sport

Located in the Western region of Cameroon, the city of Dschang affirms its commitment to sports development and the well-being of its population.

During an official meeting with representatives of CIJFADAM, the Mayor of Dschang announced his intention to make available to the organization a plot of land of nearly two hectares intended to house a future sports center .

This initiative represents an important step for the FADAM movement, which has been working since its inception to promote martial arts and sport as vectors of education, health, inclusion and social cohesion.

The project aims to create a space dedicated to sports practice and well-being, promoting access to physical activities for young people and, more broadly, for the Cameroonian population.

This announcement is in line with the FADAM Cameroon 2018 , the first edition of the FADAM Games, which at the time still meant "African Martial Arts Festival".

In April 2018, Cameroon hosted this unprecedented international event bringing together more than 500 martial artists from five continents, around the values of peace, respect and brotherhood.

From the opening ceremony at the Yaoundé Multipurpose Sports Palace to the spectacular demonstrations in Douala, and on to the cultural and traditional celebrations in Limbé, FADAM brings together athletes, masters, artists and international delegations in a grand celebration of sport and cultural diversity.

Beyond the popular success and international reach of this first edition, the Games have carried from their inception a fundamental ambition: to leave the host country a concrete and lasting legacy, for the benefit of its population .

The creation of accessible sports infrastructure is one of the objectives of this legacy, in order to extend the positive effects of the Games long after their conclusion.

Transforming the legacy of the Games into opportunities for future generations

With the announcement from Dschang, this ambition now finds a new prospect of realization.

The future sports center represents much more than an infrastructure project. It reflects a vision of sport as a tool for human and social development, capable of fostering the development of young people, access to physical activity and the transmission of the educational values of martial arts.

For CIJFADAM, the legacy of a sporting event is not measured solely by its reach or the number of participants, but also by its ability to create lasting opportunities for the communities that host it.

This new step demonstrates the commitment to continue the pledges made within the framework of FADAM Cameroon 2018 and to make sport a lever for positive transformation of territories.

Games that leave a lasting mark

Through its FADAM Impact program, CIJFADAM highlights initiatives that extend its mission beyond competitions and major international events.

The Dschang project fully illustrates this philosophy: to build a legacy that benefits the people, encourages sports practice and contributes to the development of the territories.

CIJFADAM extends its sincere thanks to the Mayor of Dschang for his commitment and trust, and welcomes this prospect of cooperation in support of Cameroonian youth and sport.

From Cameroon in 2018 to the FADAM World Games Paris 2027, the same ambition remains: to make martial arts a driver of peace, education and sustainable development, and to leave in each host country a legacy that goes beyond the Games.
