When sport meets culture

After the Nights of Yaoundé and Douala, the spirit of FADAM moved to the Southwest coast for an exceptional day blending martial arts, traditions, and conviviality . Co-organized by the Seme Beach hotel-resort, this final stage aimed to showcase the natural beauty and cultural diversity of Cameroon to all the international participants.

In an idyllic setting, between beach, forest and mountain, FADAM has demonstrated that martial arts are not limited to tatami mats: they are also a vehicle for openness, dialogue and sharing.

A festive and multicultural program

Early in the morning, the delegations, escorted by the Commander of the National Gendarmerie of the Southwest, Colonel Tchinda , arrived at Seme Beach for a day full of discoveries. On the agenda:

  • One-hour martial arts show , bringing together the BIR (Rapid Intervention Battalion) , the Nanbudokas of the Southwest , the Croatian Self-Defense team, the Shaolin Black and White troupe , and the Shaolin Monks ;

  • Traditional dances , pirogue races , Cameroonian wrestling matches , and musical entertainment ;

  • Tasting of traditional dishes , showcasing the gastronomy of Cameroon.

Culture and traditions in the spotlight

This day particularly celebrated the traditional cultures of Western and Littoral Cameroon. Dancers, singers, traditional musicians, and various activities (wrestling, pirogue races, tug-of-war, etc.) allowed foreign delegations to discover the rich cultural heritage of these regions.

The kings of Western Cameroon honored

A highlight of the day was the exceptional presence of six traditional kings who came to support FADAM. Among them were the King of Bafoussam , the King of Bana , King Batoufam , King Foumbote , King Batoke , and King Bakingini . Their participation gave the ceremony a powerful symbolic dimension, uniting ancestral heritage with the modern values of martial arts.

Their presence embodied the spirit of respect and cultural continuity that FADAM wishes to transmit to each generation: the union of ancient knowledge and youth in motion.

A high-performance martial arts show

Despite the festive atmosphere in a seaside setting, the Cameroonian and international athletes delivered top-level demonstrations, the kind only seasoned professionals can achieve. The tension was palpable, even among the audience, who warmly applauded the martial artists.

A final farewell, between sea and mountain

Against a backdrop of traditional music and waves, the artists offered a final bow filled with emotion and gratitude .

The flags of the delegations flew side by side, symbolizing the friendship between the nations and the promise of a common future.

It was in this atmosphere of peace and unity that the participants took the road back to Douala, thus concluding a historic week for African martial arts.

FADAM, an experience beyond sport

The Limbé Day recalled the very essence of FADAM: uniting the world through martial arts and culture , creating bridges between peoples, and leaving a positive and lasting imprint in each host country.

This third installment has shown that the beauty of martial arts is also measured by its ability to enhance culture and connect human beings .
