The FADAM Games opening ceremony is a major festive event that aims to celebrate the many facets of world martial arts and the cultures of the participating countries.
The first highlight of the festival, the FADAM Games opening ceremony, brings together 1,000 African and international artists for a unique four-hour show. The audience can admire the skill, beauty, and magic of martial arts from around the world: from Chinese Kung Fu to Russian Sambo, including Karate, Taekwondo, Capoeira, and many other disciplines from across the globe.
Following the parade of delegations and official speeches, culture is also celebrated with traditional dances, parades, and large-scale musical performances featuring renowned artists from Africa and beyond.
After the spectacular opening ceremony at the Yaoundé Sports Palace on April 5, 2018, during the inaugural edition of the Games, which was marked by inclusivity, diversity, and community spirit, FADAM reaffirmed its mission to unite and celebrate communities worldwide through traditional and modern martial arts.
